Moving on to School

Children going school the next academic year are given the opportunity to be involved in activities that are designed to ready them for school. Curriculum's, books and activities include preparation materials to support the children in their transition. Wendron has adopted the same behaviour management scheme, and some learning techniques of the local schools to ensure some continuity.

Reception teachers from local schools visit the Pre School the term prior to transition to Primary School to meet the children in their environment.  Children attending Wendron CofE Primary School are invited to attend weekly morning sessions for the last half term and at least one member of Wendron Pre School staff also attend to ensure our children feel settled and confident, in their new surroundings.  

Please note that attending Wendron Pre School does not guarantee your child a place in any Primary School reception class.
